Winachi have recently released their new single, State of Mind, which is a brooding track that signals a fresh direction for the Warrington (England) outfit. Moving away from their trademark funk grooves, the track leans into alternative rock and indie influences while maintaining a powerful rhythmic drive.
Written during lockdown after relentless touring across the UK, Europe and the US, the song reflects on survival, exhaustion and self-discovery. Liam Croker’s reflective vocals sit against atmospheric instrumentation from Antony Egerton and Inder Goldfinger, creating a cinematic edge enhanced by mixer Dave Pemberton. Recorded at the band’s Warrington studio and finished in Manchester, State of Mind introduces a darker, more personal chapter for Winachi and their evolving sound.
