Vancouver rocker Pennan Brae has just released his new album, Paint, which is a seven-track journey through vintage-inspired soundscapes. Recorded at Blue Light Studio with producer Kaj Falch-Nielsen, the album features the incomparable Steve Ferrone, commanding the drums on every song.

The record blends classic, funk, and country rock, enhanced by violinist Cameron Wilson, a local horn trio, and harmonies from Alison Jenkins. Highlights include the rebellious single It Ain’t Perfect But It’s Free, bursting with swagger and groove. Pennan’s nostalgic yet fresh songwriting, paired with Steve’s precision and Nathan Gowsell’s neon-lit cover art, makes Paint a vibrant homage to rock’s golden eras.
