Velvet Sun have released their new EP, Empire, which brings a fresh yet familiar sound to their discography with four compelling tracks.
The band, led by Scott Weinkle, and featuring Eric Gould on keyboards and Marcel Salas on bass, delivers a captivating mix of dreamy guitar tones and gritty rhythms. Wait, the second track, showcases jangly guitars and emotive vocals, capturing a sense of romantic longing. The title track, Empire, contrasts swirling psychedelia with sharp basslines, while Star nods to the glam rock era with its 70s-inspired harmonies.

Closing with Wonder, the band dives deep into shoegaze, offering lush, distorted guitar layers. Produced by Ferny Coipel, the EP blends ethereal atmospheres with driving beats, creating a unique sound that evokes both nostalgia and mystery.
Velvet Sun’s Empire highlights their ability to merge beauty with intensity, further solidifying their distinct place in indie rock. Check out Empire and Wait below.
