Uncanny Valet unveils his new album, Almost Island

Uncanny Valet, the electronic project of New York-based artist David Queen, has released his latest album, Almost Island, via West Records.

Known for his cinematic, ambient soundscapes, David draws inspiration from a wide range of genres, blending influences from the likes of Aphex Twin and Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Almost Island pushes the boundaries of experimental music, incorporating elements of 80s pop, dub, and even nostalgic cartoon soundtracks. Tracks like Cameo Glass mix glitchy funk with adventurous sonic textures, while the album’s title track delivers a sprawling, atmospheric journey.

With its unpredictable and diverse instrumentation, Almost Island stands as a bold contrast to the uniformity of today’s streaming landscape, offering an album that dares to explore new territory with every note. Check it out below.
