Jake Major unveils new EP, The Amsterdam Tapes, Vol. 1

Jake Major’s latest EP, The Amsterdam Tapes, Vol. 1, marks his debut foray into trance and dance music, blending his love for 70s and 80s electronic sounds with a modern, futuristic touch.

At just 19, the Newcastle-based artist brings fresh energy to the electronic scene, having also been heavily influenced by 90s trance, rave culture, and the city’s vibrant music scene. The EP features tracks filled with evocative, dreamlike lyrics, like These Pills of Lust and Longing, which explores the dark side of rave culture while promoting safety.

Tracks like Euphoria Peloria and How Can It Be? continue this bittersweet narrative with catchy beats and vivid storytelling. The final track, Vigilante, showcases Jake's growth as an artist, reworking an older composition with new elements, including a dynamic synth brass section.

Overall, The Amsterdam Tapes, Vol. 1 is a thrilling blend of nostalgia and innovation. Check it out below.
