Ferrn's latest album, Endless & Elsewhere
Ferrn have released their new album, Endless & Elsewhere, marking a significant return for the band after years of individual pursuits.
This collaboration unites seasoned musicians from Chicago and Gainesville, Florida. Ryan Backman, a versatile singer-songwriter, pianist and composer, brings his extensive experience and musical education to the project, while bassist Jonathan Mondragon returns to producing after a long hiatus. Guitarist Tyler Earls, known for his work in various bands, adds depth and energy to the sound.
The album emerged from home recordings, initially starting as a solo endeavor. It evolved into a vibrant five-piece band, with tracks shaped by improvisation and collaboration. The music reflects a quest for meaning in a chaotic world, infused with themes of climate change anxiety and a fictional, dystopian but hauntingly beautiful Florida.
With plans for live performances in early 2025, Ferrn are set to captivate audiences with their eclectic sound. Check out Endless & Elsewhere below.
