Crayola Lectern unveils new single, Stars Over Louth

Crayola Lectern’s new single, Stars Over Louth, offers a serene and reflective listening experience, blending minimalist piano with a muted trumpet.

The track, primarily created by Chris Anderson on mellotron, piano, and bass, features Al Strachan’s evocative trumpet playing. Inspired by correspondence with Alfreda Benge during the Covid lockdowns, and praised by Robert Wyatt, the piece is a gentle, unpretentious reflection on life, inviting listeners to relax and contemplate the moment.

The atmospheric, night-time tones create a tranquil ambiance, evoking the mood of a candlelit evening. With its simple elegance, the song is a fitting preview for Crayola Lectern’s upcoming album, Disasternoon, which is set for release in August.

The track showcases Crayola Lectern’s unique style, blending jazz, folk, and experimental elements. Check out Stars Over Louth below.
