Case Against Time’s latest single, Bee in the Cage

Case Against Time have recently released their new single and video, Bee in the Cage, a slow-burn electronic piece shaped by hands-on performance and unconventional sound sources. The project favors tactile playing, sparse sequencing and field recordings, echoing the early 1990s vision of computer music while using modern editing conveniences.

The track’s character emerged from a malfunctioning synthesizer whose unstable oscillators produced drifting tones. Rather than fixing the issue, the artist layered overdubs and turned the flaw into atmosphere. What began as a search for a bright lead became a hazy sonic environment instead. The resulting hum suggests mechanical bees circling inside an electronic hive, giving the composition a distinctive, quietly cinematic identity of its own.
