Captain Mantis unveil debut EP, Vice Market

Captain Mantis, a Monterrey-based rock quartet formed by lifelong friends, have just released their bold and varied debut EP titled Vice Market.

Produced by Paco Lazo and Andrés Lavalle, the four-track release spans from high-energy hard rock to lush balladry and Latin-infused grooves. Moonshine Alley kicks things off with raw power, while Galatea offers a softer, cinematic mood through layered acoustic guitars and mellotron.

The title track leans into rhythmic Latin rock, driven by Ignacio Alvarez’s standout bass lines. With a focus on organic, vintage textures and thoughtful experimentation, the band balances complexity with accessibility.

The EP’s cover art, designed by artist Steven Arzamendi, mirrors its sonic diversity. Vice Market doesn’t just revisit rock’s past—it re-imagines it with heart, grit, and originality. Check out the EP below.
